What is a good menu for a southern style bbq?
Q. It's my mum's birthday soon and I'm planning a southern style bbq to celebrate. I've been looking at different recipes and i'm feeling a bit lost, there's so many different styles of cooking and so many different areas. It's so hard to choose what to go for. What do you think would be best? ps. any ideas about music/decoration/etc. would be much appreciated =) I think I've decided on a texan bbq.

Can you share an authentic southern/soul food cornbread recipe?
Q. I really have an itching to learn how to cook southern food. I'm from the North and don't have a clue. Please give me an authentic recipe for cornbread like the type served at soul food restaurants. Thanks.

A. There are lots of different recipes, depending on what part of the South your recipe hails from. In Louisiana, for instance, I think the cornbread is sweeter and in Virginia you might be run out of town if you put sugar in your cornbread. So, here is a recipe from one of the finest Southern cooks to have ever lived, Edna Lewis. Edna Lewis' history is as interesting as her food. If you are truly interested in real Southern cooking, Edna's books are a good place to start but it certainly isn't the end. 2 C. sifted white cornmeal 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp baking soda 2 tsps Royal Baking Powder 3 eggs, beaten 1 Tbs lard 1 Tbs butter 2 Cups sour milk or buttermilk. What Universities in Southern California that offer a degree in Nutrition or dietetics?
Q. I am a freshman in a private University in southern California. I just decided that I want to study nutrition but my school does not offer thatn major. I need to transfer ASAP but I don't know what schools in southern California have that major, or will accept a transfer student from a private school. anyone know of any universities with a good Nutrition or dietetics program?

A. Just stay where youre at. Nutrition is a hobby, not something to major in. Just look at nutritiondata.com for a few hours for all your nutritional needs. BAM! There's your nutrition degree, or basically the equivalent, and will basically be regarded as highly as a nutrition degree.
